| Abstract: | Reports first aerial survey in Iceland directed at waders. 115 intertidal sites surveyed on ground May 1986, 1987; most of Iceland's coastline had aerial census and proportions of species compared as indicator of consistency of the two counts. Estimated total 345 000 birds, 10 species, (270 000 knots). Concluding remarks on differences due to migration strategies, mainly to Greenland, and fat loads on birds. |
