Record #122356:

Ocean--climate studies in the Antarctic / N.J.P. Owens, D.R. Turner.

Title: Ocean--climate studies in the Antarctic / N.J.P. Owens, D.R. Turner.
Author(s): Owens, N. J. P.
Turner, D. R.
Date: 1993.
In: NERC News. (1993.), Vol. 25 (1993)
Abstract: Briefly describes field work in Bellingshausen Sea, first Southern Ocean cruise for Biogeochemical Ocean Flux Study (BOFS), which is British contribution to international Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS). Investigated importance of region as sink or source of CO₂ and other climatically significant gases and evaluated magnitude and variability of biogeochemical fluxes during early summer sea-ice retreat.
