Record #122276:
Chronology of Taylor Glacier advances in Arena Valley, Antarctica, using in situ cosmogenic ³He and ¹⁰Be / Edward J. Brook, and 6 others.
Title: | Chronology of Taylor Glacier advances in Arena Valley, Antarctica, using in situ cosmogenic ³He and ¹⁰Be / Edward J. Brook, and 6 others. |
Author(s): | Brook, Edward J. |
Date: | 1993. |
In: | Quaternary Research. (1993.), Vol. 39(1) (1993) |
Abstract: | ³He and ¹⁰Be in quartz sandstone boulders from Arena Valley, south Victoria Land provide chronological constraints for sequence of moraines (Taylor II--IVb moraines) related to expansion of Taylor Glacier. Results suggest maximum thickening of glacier relative to present ice surface of about 500 m since Late Pliocene--Early Pleistocene. |
Notes: | Quaternary Research. Vol. 39(1) :11-23 (1993). |
Keywords: | 551.33 -- Glacial geology. 551.332.52 -- Moraines, terminal and recessional. 551.336 -- Ice ages. 551.782.2 -- Pliocene. 551.791 -- Pleistocene. 551.337 -- Chronology of the Pleistocene and recent periods.
