Record #121449:

The influence of climate-related accumulation area processes of melting, percolation and isotopic fractionation on temporal variations of glacier river discharge and composition / Wilfred H. Theakstone.

Title: The influence of climate-related accumulation area processes of melting, percolation and isotopic fractionation on temporal variations of glacier river discharge and composition / Wilfred H. Theakstone.
Author(s): Theakstone, Wilfred H.,
Date: [1992]
Publisher: Manchester: School of Geography, University of Manchester
Abstract: The isotopic and chemical stratigraphy of the snow pack on the Austre Okstindbreen glacier is influenced strongly by atmospheric circulation in winter, and by the air temperature during periods of precipitation. Within-pack refreezing of meltwater appears to promote homogenisation, but further studies are needed to provide data on the speed of the process.
