Spring ice conditions from SAR images near the Alaska coast of the Chukchi Sea / F. Li, J. Kelley, U. Uematsu.

Title: Spring ice conditions from SAR images near the Alaska coast of the Chukchi Sea / F. Li, J. Kelley, U. Uematsu.
Author(s): Li, F.
Kelley, J.
Uematsu, U.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Fairbanks, AK: Polar Ice Coring Office
In: Polar Ice Coring Office. Reports. (1992.), CP-92-5 (1992)
Abstract: The SAR system greatly improves the investigation of sea ice, but its 3-day repeat prevents the tracking of FY ice when severe deformation and processes associated with flaw lead opening and closing occurs. The spring sea ice conditions in the Chukchi Sea offer great potential for investigating flaw lead variation and its impacts on bowhead whale migration.
