Abstract: Author gives reasons for combining Saqqaq, Independence I and Old Nuulliit Cultures and also Dorset I with Independence II. Differences are best seen as due to different living conditions and mineral resources in different parts of country. Persistence of divisions despite originators' changed views is simply due to their being current in literature.
