Abstract: Kinetic parameters for isoleucine epimerization in two foraminifera species were found from pyrolysis and dated samples. Hence and with down core change in degree of epimerization in two cores from Norwegian Sea, bottom water temperature in oxygen isotope stages was deduced and suggestions are made concerning activation energies for epimerization and hydrolysis reactions.
