Title: | Seismic crustal structure along the Axarfjördur Trough at the eastern margin of the Tjörnes Fracture Zone, N-Iceland / Erik Sturkell, Bryndís Brandsdóttir, Hideki Shimamura, Masashi Mochizuki. |
Author(s): | Sturkell, Erik. Brandsdóttir, Bryndís. Shimamura, Hideki. Mochizuki, Masashi. |
Date: | 1992. |
In: | Jökull. (1992.), Vol. 42 (1992) |
Abstract: | Refraction survey along easternmost trough within Tjörnes Fracture Zone on N-Iceland shelf reveals major sedimentary sequence. Layers are horizontal and as thick as 2.3 km., of wedge shape thinning away from coast and deposited on igneous basement 2.2-4.4 Ma old. Layer 3 is unusually deep. |
Notes: | Jökull. Vol. 42 :13-23 (1992). |
