Record #120883:

Snow cover observation by use of ERS-1 SAR data / Turid Faanes.

Title: Snow cover observation by use of ERS-1 SAR data / Turid Faanes.
Author(s): Faanes, Turid.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Trondheim: Norwegian Hydrotechnical Laboratory, SINTEF NHL
Abstract: Two scenes of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data from ERS-1 satellite are analyzed for area of Trollheimen. First data set is from 11 October 1991 and second is from 7 December 1991. Topography dominates reflecting signal in both images. In difference image (11 October to 7 December), topographic effects are almost eliminated and changes in brightness from one date to another are shown clearly. Results indicate that SAR images obtained over time may contain information about types of snow cover.
