Abstract: | Many foreign woodland birds appear occasionally in Iceland. Given enough forest, some should survive, and in new forests some should settle. Article considers some probable species: woodcock, blackbird, fieldfare, brambling, chaffinch and crossbill. Other possibilities are tentatively listed. If some of these become established, they may effect present Icelandic woodland birds, but the population should become more diverse. |
