Abstract: Numbers to be fed and numbers able to catch fish to feed them grew in 1880's, so traders flourished. Christian Figenschou, "Trofanoff", married a part-Russian wife and prospered in Helgøy. Chapter details progress in some of North Troms ports and some of wares traded. Architects' drawings of White Sea craft are shown. Trofanoff's daughter's memories of arrival of Russians enliven chapter, which ends with some personal details of marriages and liaisons.
