Record #120576:

Disko Bugt Project 1992, West Greenland / Flemming G. Christiansen.

Title: Disko Bugt Project 1992, West Greenland / Flemming G. Christiansen.
Author(s): Christiansen, Flemming G.
Date: 1992.
In: Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse. Rapport. (1992.), Vol. 159 (1992)
Abstract: Fourth and final year of field studies under "Disko Bugt Project" within two very different geological provinces to assess resource potential of Precambrian for minerals and offshore for hydrocarbons. Minerals sought include lead-zinc (Black Angel mine now closed), base metal sulphides and gold. Among standard techniques, methods were applied for direct recognition of hydrocarbon seeps or impregnations. New methods make possible very precise geological maps and sections in laboratory for previously inaccessible outcrops.
