Record #120197:

A snow cover model for global climatic simulations / Bettina Loth, Hans F. Graf, Josef M. Oberhuber.

Title: A snow cover model for global climatic simulations / Bettina Loth, Hans F. Graf, Josef M. Oberhuber.
Author(s): Loth, Bettina.
Graf, Hans F.
Oberhuber, Josef M.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Hamburg: Max-Planck-Institut für Meteorologie
Abstract: Presents layered snow-cover model which is based on mass and energy balances. Model simulates all important internal processes avoiding tuned parameters and can be implemented into 3-D GCMs. Distinguishes four snow types (cold snow, wet snow, firn, ice). Complexity and numerics of model are chosen such that long-term integrations are possible and forcing terms only include regular observations.

551.58 -- Climatology.
551.588.5 -- Climate, relationship with ice.

E10 -- Glaciology: snow and avalanches.
