Record #120131:
Problems of reconstructing Pleistocene stratigraphy in Estonia / Elsbet Liivrand.
Title: | Problems of reconstructing Pleistocene stratigraphy in Estonia / Elsbet Liivrand. |
Author(s): | Liivrand, Elsbet. |
Date: | 1992. |
Abstract: | Discusses these problems, most complicated being connected with occurrence of interglacial erratics. Presents palynological interpretation of events: only two interglacials before present Holocene can be demonstrated. Weichselian glaciation is more complete than that for penultimate glaciations and so more detailed stratigraphic reconstruction is possible. Majority of tills were deposited during main glacial advance 20 ka BP. |
Notes: | Offprint: SGU. Series Ca. Forskningsrapporter. Vol. 81 :171-176. |
Keywords: | 551.33 -- Glacial geology. 551.336 -- Ice ages. 551.79 -- Quaternary. E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages. (*538) -- Baltic States. |
