| Abstract: | Volumes of glacially eroded rock from central Sognefjord (Norway) basin and total Sognefjord drainage basin were calculated to be minimum of 2000 and 4000 km², respectively. Latter volume corresponds to 320 m thick rock layer distributed over drainage basin. Late Cenozoic glaciers extended beyond mouth of fjord for more than 1 Ma and thickness of glacially eroded rock unit from central parts of fjord was >1900 m. |
