Record #119983:

Chemical characteristics of water circulating in the Werenskiold glacier (SW Spitsbergen) / Wiesława Ewa Krawczyk.

Title: Chemical characteristics of water circulating in the Werenskiold glacier (SW Spitsbergen) / Wiesława Ewa Krawczyk.
Author(s): Krawczyk, Wiesława Ewa.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Sosnowiec: University of Silesia, Department of Karst Geomorphology
In: 2nd International Symposium of Glacier Caves and Karst in Polar Regions. Proceedings. (1992.),
Abstract: Discussion based mainly on field work in 1986, although results of earlier investigations, in 1979, 1980 and 1983, have also been incorporated. At least two subglacial reservoirs appear to have been active in summer 1986, one associated with central glacier system and one with marginal system of Kvisla cave. Probably two minor aquifers were also present. Investigations support existence of two drainage systems within glacier: summer and winter.
