Record #119870:

Microwave remote sensing of low-salinity sea ice / Martti Hallikainen.

Title: Microwave remote sensing of low-salinity sea ice / Martti Hallikainen.
Author(s): Hallikainen, Martti.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Washington, DC: American Geophysical Union
In: Microwave remote sensing of sea ice. (1992.),
Abstract: As physical characteristics of low-salinity ice, such as Baltic Sea ice, are different from those of Arctic sea ice, backscattering and emission behaviour of this ice is likely to be different. Outlines microwave remote sensing experiments in Baltic Sea (Sea Ice-75 (March 1975), BEPERS pilot study (March--April 1987), BEPERS-88 (March 1988), SAAMEX'90 (March 1990)) and discusses active and passive remote sensing of low-salinity sea ice, referring to basic behaviour of brightness temperature and retrieval of ice characteristics.
