Record #119863:

Microwave study programs of air--ice--ocean interactive processes in the seasonal ice zone of the Greenland and Barents seas / Ola M. Johannessen, and 7 others.

Title: Microwave study programs of air--ice--ocean interactive processes in the seasonal ice zone of the Greenland and Barents seas / Ola M. Johannessen, and 7 others.
Author(s): Johannessen, Ola M.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Washington, DC: American Geophysical Union
In: Microwave remote sensing of sea ice. (1992.),
Abstract: Reviews main results accomplished during decade (1979-89) of experiments that emphasized use of microwave remote sensing techniques: NORSEX'79 (September--October 1979), MIZEX'83 (June--August 1983), MIZEX'84 (June--August 1984), MIZEX'87 (March--April 1987), SIZEX'89 (part 1 in Barents Sea in February 1989, part 2 in Greenland Sea in March 1989). Recent modelling results of seasonal ice zone processes are summarized. Example of regional ice forecasting using microwave observations is presented, and role of seasonal ice zone in climate system is discussed.
