Record #119846:

Morphosedimentological dynamics and coastal evolution in the Kongsfjorden area, Spitsbergen / Arnaud Héquette.

Title: Morphosedimentological dynamics and coastal evolution in the Kongsfjorden area, Spitsbergen / Arnaud Héquette.
Author(s): Héquette, Arnaud.
Date: 1992.
In: Polar Geography and Geology. (1992.), Vol. 16(4) (1992)
Abstract: Work concerns terraces under current morphosedimentological processes on beaches and vertical shoreline displacements during the Holocene. Alluvial accretion very high along fronts of fluvioglacial outwash plains. Overwash processes cause offshore bars to migrate inland, uncovering periglacial patterns that were submerged in a marine transgression. Radiocarbon dates show rise and fall of sea levels in 10 000 years. Translated from Inter-Nord, 1991, 19 :439-443.
