Record #119594:

Air Force snowfall statistics for engineering applications / H.J. Snelling.

Title: Air Force snowfall statistics for engineering applications / H.J. Snelling.
Author(s): Snelling, H. J.
Date: 1992.
In: Eastern Snow Conference. Proceedings. (1992.), Vol. 49th Annual Meeting (1992)
Abstract: Outlines activities of US Air Force Environmental Technical Applications Center, which produces statistics on snowfall for military customers, although they can be used by other agencies. Recently, two types of statistics were requested that are not normally published: total snowfall (which will enable engineers to design structures to last for long periods in various climatic regions) and extreme daily snowfall (to be used in determining allocations of snow removal equipment) for each of last 10 snow seasons.
Notes:

Eastern Snow Conference. Proceedings. Vol. 49th Annual Meeting :61-69 (1992).

Keywords: 551.578.42 -- Snow surveys.
551.578.46 -- Snow cover and snow patches.
624.14 -- Snow and ice engineering.
624.042.42 -- Snow load on structures.
624.144.55 -- Snow and ice removing equipment.
E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering.
