Abstract: 14 facies are identified and described. Significant variation occur within each type with regard to lamination, stratification and structure. Fine particles were dominant (77% of total) testifying to importance of meltwater plumes in transporting rock flour. Occurrence of laminated muds at proximal locations to fast-flowing outlet glaciers of Nordvestfjord and Vestfjord indicate that significant quantities of meltwater are produced by these glaciers, implying that they are warm-based.
