Record #119417:

A procedure for dynamic soil--structure--ice interaction / Tuomo Karna.

Title: A procedure for dynamic soil--structure--ice interaction / Tuomo Karna.
Author(s): Karna, Tuomo.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Golden, CO: International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE)
In: Proceedings of the Second (1992) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference. Vol. 2. (1992.),
Abstract: New computer model has been developed for evaluating sea-ice--structure interaction which also includes effects of soil--structure interaction. Program can be used in analysis of events where offshore structure is subjected to action of drifting ice sheets or massive ice features such as icebergs. Program is based on substructure technique where separate equations are set up for each interacting medium. Zonal approach is applied while modelling ice failure processes. Hence effects of nonsimultaneous crushing are considered.
Notes:

In: The proceedings of the Second (1992) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference. Vol. 2 / Michael S. Triantafyllou, Jin S. Chung, Karel Karal, Alfred L. Tunik, eds.
