Record #119416:

Preliminary results of the U.S. Navy localized ice impact test program / Edward A. Devine, Devinder S. Sodhi.

Title: Preliminary results of the U.S. Navy localized ice impact test program / Edward A. Devine, Devinder S. Sodhi.
Author(s): Devine, Edward A.
Sodhi, Devinder S.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Golden, CO: International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE)
In: Proceedings of the Second (1992) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference. Vol. 2. (1992.),
Abstract: Towed scale models of icebreaker and of naval frigate were equipped with sensor which permitted measurement of localized loads resulting from impact to scale model floes made from urea ice. Icebreaker tests were performed for validation of test procedures through comparison with full-scale test data available for this ship. Frigate tests are intended for validation of analytical load models to be used for future structural design and operational assessments of naval surface ships. Finalized loadings and pressure equations are still being evaluated.
Notes:

In: The proceedings of the Second (1992) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference. Vol. 2 / Michael S. Triantafyllou, Jin S. Chung, Karel Karal, Alfred L. Tunik, eds.
