Record #119382:

Recent fluctuations of glaciers in Kongsfjorden, Spitsbergen, Svalbard (79°N) / Bernard Lefauconnier.

Title: Recent fluctuations of glaciers in Kongsfjorden, Spitsbergen, Svalbard (79°N) / Bernard Lefauconnier.
Author(s): Lefauconnier, Bernard.
Date: 1992.
In: Polar Geography and Geology. (1992.), Vol. 16(3) (1992)
Abstract: Shows that Kongsbreen experienced neoglacial advance before Little Ice Age. Despite present tendency to retreat, flow velocity in ice near snout has been constant for 20 years. Good correlation was obtained between mass balance of small cirque glaciers in this area and summer temperature and spring precipitation.
