Abstract: Work carried out in May 1990 suggests that this area was glaciated during Late Pleistocene by south-western margin of marine ice sheet centred on East Siberian continental shelf. Evidence from U-shaped valleys, giant flutes, rock drumlins and glacio-tectonic features coupled with rock basins, all attesting to ice motion in north-east to south-west direction.
