Abstract: Abstract only. Reports new measurements from Dome Circe and Newall Glacier, Victoria Land, using improved methods of extraction of in-situ ¹⁴CO and ¹⁴CO₂. Observed concentrations are usually lower than expected for complete retention of ¹⁴C, using accumulation rate assumed for thee sites. In-situ ¹⁴C is retained to extent sufficient to modify ¹⁴C/¹²C ratio expected in ice from trapped CO₂ at or below firn/ice transition zone.
