Abstract: Presents scheme for regionalization of world's snow cover on basis of latitudinal belts. Parameters such as amount and duration of snow cover are examined for each belt and for subdivisions within belts. Patterns that emerge are placed in context of controlling influences such as ocean currents and atmospheric circulation.
