Record #119156:

A "deep" ice core from East Greenland / Sigfus J. Johnsen, and 7 others.

Title: A "deep" ice core from East Greenland / Sigfus J. Johnsen, and 7 others.
Author(s): Johnsen, Sigfus J.
Date: 1992.
In: Meddelelser om Grønland. Geoscience. (1992.), Vol. 29 (1992)
Abstract: Pilot studies on Renland peninsula indicated that ice cap meets most criteria defining favourable ice-core drill site. In 1988, continuous surface-to-bedrock core was obtained from summit. Although relatively short (411 m), core reaches deep into past, through last glaciation and most of preceding Eem interglacial, 125 ka BP. Contains detailed information on temporal changes of coastal environment and serves as complement to new (1992) deep cores being drilled in central Greenland. Presents results relating to palaeoclimates from Renland core, comparing with those obtained from other cores.
