Abstract: Model developed which is based on land-use characteristics obtained from satellite data. Model is able to use snow and cloud cover from NOAA satellites and snow-water equivalent data from DMSP satellite. Relating model parameters to land use means that model can be moved to different watersheds without major recalibration and can be used to investigate changes in land use. Output from general circulation model simulating a 2xCO₂ scenario was used to investigate use of model under different climatic conditions. Discusses linkage of output from GCM with hydrological model and incorporation of anticipated changes in land use.
