Record #119108:

Minimizing measurement errors in automated snowpack profile temperature measurements / Keith A. Sauter, Bertrand D. Tanner.

Title: Minimizing measurement errors in automated snowpack profile temperature measurements / Keith A. Sauter, Bertrand D. Tanner.
Author(s): Sauter, Keith A.
Tanner, Bertrand D.
Date: 1992.
In: Western Snow Conference. Proceedings. (1992.), Vol. 60th Annual Meeting (1992)
Abstract: Examines promising new technique, using specially constructed thermocouple ladder. During isothermal conditions, errors due to conduction were minimal. During non-isothermal conditions, entire TC string was affected by conduction errors, although only those junctions buried 100 to 200 mm below surface experienced significant fluctuations.
