Record #119108:
Minimizing measurement errors in automated snowpack profile temperature measurements / Keith A. Sauter, Bertrand D. Tanner.
Title: | Minimizing measurement errors in automated snowpack profile temperature measurements / Keith A. Sauter, Bertrand D. Tanner. |
Author(s): | Sauter, Keith A. Tanner, Bertrand D. |
Date: | 1992. |
In: | Western Snow Conference. Proceedings. (1992.), Vol. 60th Annual Meeting (1992) |
Abstract: | Examines promising new technique, using specially constructed thermocouple ladder. During isothermal conditions, errors due to conduction were minimal. During non-isothermal conditions, entire TC string was affected by conduction errors, although only those junctions buried 100 to 200 mm below surface experienced significant fluctuations. |
Notes: | Western Snow Conference. Proceedings. Vol. 60th Annual Meeting :36-43 (1992). |
Keywords: | 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.321 -- Glaciological methods and instruments. 551.321.4 -- Temperature, measurement of snow, ice and glaciers. E3 -- Glaciology: instruments and methods. |
