Record #119086:

Statistical analysis of the effect of wind forcing on Antarctic sea ice / Josefino C. Comiso, R.M. Atlas.

Title: Statistical analysis of the effect of wind forcing on Antarctic sea ice / Josefino C. Comiso, R.M. Atlas.
Author(s): Comiso, Josefino C.
Atlas, R. M.
Date: 1992.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1992.), Vol. 73(43, fall meeting supplement) (1992)
Abstract: Abstract only. Areal extent of sea-ice cover derived from special sensor microwave imager (SSM/I) is quantified and analyzed on daily basis and correlated with co-registered 6-hourly wind data. Daily changes in wind strength and direction cause significant fluctuations in marginal ice zone; growth areas and polynya formation are identified and evaluated as wind changes, and overall influence of wind on ice is assessed.
Notes:

Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 73(43, fall meeting supplement) :284 (1992).
