Arctic sea ice sediments: climatological significance at present and in the past / Heidemarie Kassens, Dirk Dethleff, Jörn Thiede, D. Nürnberg.

Title: Arctic sea ice sediments: climatological significance at present and in the past / Heidemarie Kassens, Dirk Dethleff, Jörn Thiede, D. Nürnberg.
Author(s): Kassens, Heidemarie.
Dethleff, Dirk.
Thiede, Jörn.
Nürnberg, D.
Date: 1992.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1992.), Vol. 73(43, fall meeting supplement) (1992)
Abstract: Abstract only. Studies in 1991 and 1992 on sediments from central Arctic Ocean and Laptev Sea. Sea-ice transport is main factor influencing ocean particle flux. 7x10⁶ tons a⁻¹ are transported to Fram Strait. Large Laptev polynya is termed "ice factory" for Arctic sea ice, and entrains large amounts of sediments into sea ice via anchor and frazil ice.
Notes:
