Title: | Optimization of hull forms for future Arctic tankers - phase 1, cont / Martin P. Luce, Alan R. Sneyd, W.R. Mann, J.S. McCallum, David N. Baker. |
Author(s): | Luce, Martin P. Sneyd, Alan R. Mann, W. R. McCallum, J. S. Baker, David N. |
Date: | 1992. |
Publisher: | Montreal: Transport Canada, Transportation Development Centre |
Abstract: | Continuation of phase 1 which was completed in 1989 and in which preliminary design of icebreaking tanker was developed. Results showed that non-level ice performance and manoeuvring in level ice should be examined, and that work is reported here. Computer program is presented in which model test results were used to produce free body simulation of hull moving in ice. |
Keywords: | 629.124.791 -- Vessels for use in ice. 629.12 -- Vessels. 624.145.1 -- Floating ice, thrust. 624.145 -- Floating ice, engineering aspects. M -- Engineering and construction. (*60) -- Arctic Ocean and adjacent waters. |
