Record #119059:

System identification applied to icebreaking resistance / David N. Baker, K. Goheen.

Title: System identification applied to icebreaking resistance / David N. Baker, K. Goheen.
Author(s): Baker, David N.
Goheen, K.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: Montreal: Transport Canada, Transportation Development Centre
Abstract: Discusses development of approach to analysis of full-scale ship trials in ice by means of system identification, which uses input and output of system to infer its properties. Considering ship as "system", it is possible to determine resistance, thrust deduction, and wake fraction. Object was to develop software package suitable for analysis of shp's performance in ice and open water.
