Record #118851:

Melting of ice shelves and the mass balance of Antarctica / S.S. Jacobs, H.H. Helmer, Christopher S.M. Doake, Adrian Jenkins, Richard M. Frolich.

Title: Melting of ice shelves and the mass balance of Antarctica / S.S. Jacobs, H.H. Helmer, Christopher S.M. Doake, Adrian Jenkins, Richard M. Frolich.
Author(s): Jacobs, S. S.
Helmer, H. H.
Doake, Christopher S. M.
Jenkins, Adrian.
Frolich, Richard M.
Date: 1992.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1992.), Vol. 38(130) (1992)
Abstract: Evaluates iceberg production and ice-shelf melting, from observations and modelled simulations of ocean circulation beneath ice shelf. In combination with reported surface accumulations, this information reveals negative ice budget over past decade. Significant part of imbalance comes from high basal melting of ice shelves.
