Record #118828:

Design and analysis of a low speed drag plow for use in deep snow / Michael R. Walsh, Paul W. Richmond.

Title: Design and analysis of a low speed drag plow for use in deep snow / Michael R. Walsh, Paul W. Richmond.
Author(s): Walsh, Michael R.
Richmond, Paul W.
Date: 1992.
In: CRREL Report. (1992.), Vol. 92-19 (1992)
Abstract: Designed to be mounted on existing wheeled vehicles. Parameters measured during testing included pitch and roll angles, drawbar forces, speed, ploughed path geometry, and snow characteristics; these parameters were used to determine feasibility of full-scale model capable of ploughing 2.45 m path in 1 m deep low-density snow, leaving 15 cm snow as ground cover.
Notes:

CRREL Report. Vol. 92-19 :iv, 1-51 (1992).

Keywords: 624.14 -- Snow and ice engineering.
624.144.55 -- Snow and ice removing equipment.
E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering.
