Record #118752:

Climatic conditions for temperate, cold and inversion type glaciers / Hisashi Ozawa, Gorow Wakahama.

Title: Climatic conditions for temperate, cold and inversion type glaciers / Hisashi Ozawa, Gorow Wakahama.
Author(s): Ozawa, Hisashi.
Wakahama, Gorow.
Date: 1992.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1992.), Vol. 73(43, fall meeting supplement) (1992)
Abstract: Abstract only. Simple relation is found between glacier thermal types and climatic conditions. Considers ideal glacier with six possible zones defined by temperature and structure at isothermal depth. Proposes temperate, cold and inversion types as typical combinations of these zones, and discusses heat conduction processes, meltwater percolation process and formation process of superimposed ice; this reveals that thermal type is related specifically to freezing index and annual precipitation on glacier.
