Record #118648:

The authenticity of the Vinland Map / Ib Kejlbo.

Title: The authenticity of the Vinland Map / Ib Kejlbo.
Author(s): Kejlbo, Ib.
Date: 1992.
In: Geografisk Tidsskrift. (1992.), Vol. 92 (1992)
Abstract: Criticises view proposed by Skelton and Painter in The Vinland Map and the Tartar relation, 1965, that Vinland Map and Resen's Map of 1605 might derive from common, now lost, source. Argues that more likely source is Danish cartographer, Claudius Clavus, and that future research should focus on original Norse sources. Includes some discussion of Eskimo cartography.
