Anthropogenic sulfate and Asian dust signals in snow from Tien Shan, northwest China / Cameron P. Wake, Paul A. Mayewski, Ping Wang, Qinzhao Yang, Jiankang Han, Zichu Xie.
Title: | Anthropogenic sulfate and Asian dust signals in snow from Tien Shan, northwest China / Cameron P. Wake, Paul A. Mayewski, Ping Wang, Qinzhao Yang, Jiankang Han, Zichu Xie. |
Author(s): | Wake, Cameron P. Mayewski, Paul A. Wang, Ping. Yang, Qinzhao. Han, Jiankang. Xie, Zichu. |
Date: | 1992. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1992.), Vol. 16 (1992) |
Abstract: | Chemical composition of snow samples collected from two watersheds shows influence of Asian dust and anthropogenic emissions on levels of selected carbon, nitrogen and sulphur species. Dust from central Asia is chief source of major ions, and anthropogenic emissions from Ürümqi are important source of sulphate to precipitation downwind from city. |
