Abstract: Contribution to review of research results from Natural Environment Research Council's Special Topic "Palaeoclimate of the Last Glacial-Interglacial Cycle", which began in 1989. As field research, pattern of glacier growth and decay is being established for last glacial cycle over three climate zones in South America. Numerical modelling is being used to define envelope of possible climatic changes that may have been responsible for changes in extent of Patagonian ice sheet.
