Abstract: Action of finite amplitude ocean waves normally incident on massive sheet of shore-fast sea ice is studied using nonlinear model. Solution procedure is developed using Stokes-type expansion and mode-matching approach for resulting series of linear problems. Results are presented for first and second order problems, allowing valid range of small-amplitude linear model to be established.
