Abstract: Summarizes different mathematical expressions used to model creep. Shows that, for pure ice, prediction of minimum strain rate during secondary creep can be made using results measured from primary creep phase. Also, analysis of behaviour of pure ice during primary creep in cases of uniaxial compression tests, pressuremeter tests, and laterally loaded pile tests suggests that time exponent of primary creep power law has constant value of 2/3, regardless of stress level, temperature variation or testing technique.
