Record #118269:

Postglacial emergence in the Canadian high Arctic: integrating glacioisostasy, eustasy, and late deglaciation / John England.

Title: Postglacial emergence in the Canadian high Arctic: integrating glacioisostasy, eustasy, and late deglaciation / John England.
Author(s): England, John.
Date: 1992.
In: Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. (1992.), Vol. 29(5) (1992)
Abstract: Discusses postglacial emergence of Greely Fiord and its tributaries, Ellesmere Island, based on previous summary of its Late Quaternary geology. Field evidence is presented (radiocarbon dating of shell samples), followed by postglacial isobases drawn on 8 ka shoreline. These isobases have orientation and profile unlike those reported from other glaciated regions. Glacioisostatic versus tectonic explanation of postglacial emergence is discussed.
