Record #118246:

Electromagnetic measurements on the Beaufort Shelf, Northwest Territories / George J. Palacky, L.E. Stephens.

Title: Electromagnetic measurements on the Beaufort Shelf, Northwest Territories / George J. Palacky, L.E. Stephens.
Author(s): Palacky, George J.
Stephens, L. E.
Date: 1992.
In: Geological Survey of Canada. Paper. (1992.), Vol. 92-1E (1992)
Abstract: Field experiments show that multifrequency horizontal-loop electromagnetic measurements are fast and cheap means for detection of subbottom ice-bonded permafrost. Data were processed using ridge regression inversion techniques and results are presented as resistivity sections. Good agreement with results from seismic surveys and drilling.
Notes:

Geological Survey of Canada. Paper. Vol. 92-1E :143-148 (1992).

Keywords: 551.34 -- Geocryology. Frozen ground.
551.341 -- Permafrost and frozen ground, equipment for investigating.
551.345.1 -- Permafrost, surveys.
E3 -- Glaciology: instruments and methods.
