Record #118217:

The Navy/NOAA Joint Ice Center's role in the climate and global change program / Franklin E. Kniskern.

Title: The Navy/NOAA Joint Ice Center's role in the climate and global change program / Franklin E. Kniskern.
Author(s): Kniskern, Franklin E.
Date: 1991.
Abstract: Condensed paper. JIC is responsible for producing global, regional and local ice analyses and forecasts for Arctic and Antarctic sea ice and Great Lakes ice. Satellite image products are primary source of sea-ice data, and NOAA polar-orbiting series of satellites are primary source of satellite data. Describes various products of JIC and how these and future ice data products analyzed on digital ice forecasting and analysis system, soon to be operational, will contribute to cryospheric section of research programme.
