Record #118070:

Bromoform emission from Arctic ice algae / William T. Sturges, G.F. Cota, P.T. Buckley.

Title: Bromoform emission from Arctic ice algae / William T. Sturges, G.F. Cota, P.T. Buckley.
Author(s): Sturges, William T.
Cota, G. F.
Buckley, P. T.
Date: 1992.
In: Nature. (1992.), Vol. 358(6388) (1992)
Abstract: Reports laboratory and in situ measurements indicating that Arctic ice microalgae emit significant quantities of bromoform (CHBr₃) which may be converted photochemically into active forms of bromine. Algae may therefore be source of observed pulse of bromine particles and gases in Arctic lower atmosphere in spring associated with surface ozone destruction.
