Record #117979:

Pediments and cold-climate conditions, Barn Mountains, unglaciated northern Yukon, Canada / Hugh M. French, D.G. Harry.

Title: Pediments and cold-climate conditions, Barn Mountains, unglaciated northern Yukon, Canada / Hugh M. French, D.G. Harry.
Author(s): French, Hugh M.
Harry, D. G.
Date: 1992.
In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (1992.), Vol. 74A(2-3) (1992)
Abstract: Significance of pediment-like slope forms discussed within climato-genetic context, based on field work in summers of 1985, 1986 and 1988. Current geomorphic activity appears limited to formation and movement of earth hummocks in seasonally thawed layer. Pediments are probably old landform features which have been re-activasted episodically only during periods of Pleistocene when enhanced moisture levels promoted intense frost wedging of upper slops and permitted enhanced solifluction across pediment.
