Fracture of first-year sea ice: preliminary results / D.L. Bentley.
Title: | Fracture of first-year sea ice: preliminary results / D.L. Bentley. |
Author(s): | Bentley, D. L. |
Date: | 1992. |
Publisher: | New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers |
In: | Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1992. Presented ... Calgary, Alberta, Canada, June 7-12, 1992. Vol. 4 - Arctic/polar technology. (1992.), |
Abstract: | In three-point bend fracture toughness tests performed on first-year sea ice at very high loading rates, no definite effect of specimen size was found over 20 to 80 cm span size range. Test temperatures varied from -16 to -3°C. |
