Record #117959:

Laboratory testing of a flexible boom for ice management / S. Loset, G.W. Timco.

Title: Laboratory testing of a flexible boom for ice management / S. Loset, G.W. Timco.
Author(s): Loset, S.
Timco, G. W.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1992. Presented ... Calgary, Alberta, Canada, June 7-12, 1992. Vol. 4 - Arctic/polar technology. (1992.),
Abstract: Discusses use of boom for ice management in oil-contaminated waters. Reports tests in which flexible model boom was towed against broken ice field in ice tank. Various configurations with respect to boom width and slackness, towing speed, and ice concentrations were tested to study influence of each parameter on load.
