Distinct element modelling of ice ridge formation / Erman Evgin, Robert M.W. Frederking, C. Zhan.

Title: Distinct element modelling of ice ridge formation / Erman Evgin, Robert M.W. Frederking, C. Zhan.
Author(s): Evgin, Erman.
Frederking, Robert M. W.
Zhan, C.
Date: 1992.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1992. Presented ... Calgary, Alberta, Canada, June 7-12, 1992. Vol. 4 - Arctic/polar technology. (1992.),
Abstract: Distinct element code was used to simulate formation of ice ridges. Two analyses were carried out: (1) velocity boundary condition was specified to form ridge, and (2) interaction between rubble pile and ice sheet was considered. Realistic results were obtained.
